Mt. Fuji got several mountain huts in each route from the 5th to the 10th(the top) stations.
You can tell those huts by their looking; as you climb, sudden an old wooden hut appears with many people stopping by and resting.
They usually have enough space so you do not need to make a reservation.
You can just go in and rest for a while or stay over a night.
Unfortunatelly, they are basically just huts with only toilet, no shower, and you will have to take a nap with bunch of other climbers that you do not know in a big room.
(Please do not forget that they are not fancy hotels with full services and privacy.)
But do not worry or too nervous! They are all nice and usually no trouble happens! So just be patient and nice, please!
They offer you blankets.
You can also ask clerks for anything you need, they might be able to help you.
You can buy some little snacks, such as noodles, curry and rice, pieces of bread, coffee, green tea, etc.
Mountain huts usually cost about 6000yen for stay, meals are separated.
Most of huts require to pay in cash. Only some of them are available for credit card, so please prepare cash.
You can rest and adjust yourself to higher altitude.
Many people who have headache by high altitude often climb too fast.
You never should overdo, take it easy.
Some of climbers just eat light and use bathroom, others who are run out of energy stay huts for hours and take a nap.
The way of utilization of mountain huts is up to youš
