I Climbed Mt.Fuji! Mt.Fuji Climbing Route Information

Mt.Fuji from the sky

There are 4 routes on Mt.Fuji.
Which one do you want to take for climbing this year!?

Depends on the individual, (age, gender, physical condition of the climbing day, etc) the time required would be a lot different.
Please take your time and climb slowly to avoid high altitude sickness.
The top of Mt.Fuji is connected to all of routes, so you can take different route and enjoy 2 ways if you use public transportation.

◆  Fujinomiya-Guchi Route

(You can start climbing from the highest spot compared to other routes, supposed to be easier. Good for beginners.)

* Start from the height of 2400m above sea level.
* Parking Space: approximately 500 cars
* Walking Distance: about 8.0km for around trip
* Time required to climb to the top: 5H
* Time required to go back to 5th station: 2H & 40min

◆  Kawaguchi-ko, Yoshida-Guchi Route

(This route got many mountain huts and is the most popular route. However, it is crowded and you could stuck in a line.
If you take this route to descend, then it is easier to get Japanese Alps after Mt.Fuji.)

* Start from the height of 2300m above sea level.
* Parking Space: approximately 900 cars
* Walking Distance: about 13.0km for around trip
* Time required to climb to the top: 5H & 40 min
* Time required to go back to 5th station: 2H & 50min
* To go to Japanese Alps (Southern Alps), at Kawaguchi-ko station, you take a train or a bus to go to Kofu, then take a train "JR line" to go to Nagano.)

◆  Subashiri-Guchi Route

(This root will merge with Yoshida-Guchi Route at the 8th station. It has mysterious extensive forests.)

* Start from the height of 1960m above sea level.
* Parking Space: approximately 200 cars
* Walking Distance: about 12.0km for around trip
* Time required to climb to the top: 6H
* Time required to go back to 5th station: 3H & 10min

◆  Gotenba-Guchi Route

(You have to start climbing the lowest sea level compared to other route, which means you walk a lot. Less mountain hut, less people are climbing. Not for beginners.)

* Start from the height of 1440m above sea level.
* Parking Space: approximately 300 cars
* Walking Distance: about 14.0km for around trip
* Time required to climb to the top: 7H & 30min
* Time required to go back to 5th station: 4H & 10min
